It would seem evangelization is the true problem with this alert page.


 


The writer suggests that there are many alternative avenues available to send children all over the world a Christmas present. That suggestion MAY be in order if the alternatives were stated. This is not true as of this web posting.


 


We in the US have seen the work of the largest union in the country and their influence on our children. We are not foolish enough to believe that the “Education System” has our children’s best interest in mind while we watch the undermining of  moral values made public. Statistics show that the “Home School” system in the US is Booming because of this.


 


We have seen other alternatives provided by our “Public Schools” for our children and don’t feel they are in our or their best interest.


 


Examples:


 


Outcome based education

Because of this we now have a generation of 5th grade educated adults in California.


 


Ebonics

What ever happened to English? (What are they thinking)


 


Family Planning in Public Schools (Provided by educators)


 Its possible you feel we should have children send birth control products in shoe boxes to the children of the world instead of toys & evangelism materials.


 


I could go on here but I would be wasting my time.


 


The Christian message is being sent throughout the world as you read this and has been for thousands of years. This is called “The Great Commission”.  I personally have found nothing wrong with this message and think that those who feel “confined” or “intolerant” are dealing with issues of their own morality. I would suggest a closer look into this evangelism thing & where it all started so that one might find the answers to their questions.


Do you REALLY want the best for the children?

People who do not support evangelism do not "send Christmas presents". That's the point: sending Chrsitmas gifts promotes evangelism.


So no, there probably isn't many alternatives to sending christmas presents to places that don't celebrate Christmas then sending Christmas presents to places that don't celebrate Christmas (i.e converting peopleto Christianity)


However, there are alternatives in giving this holiday season that promotes human diginity for all, proper living conditions, eliminating poverty and AIDs etc..

The guy who wrote this article must be living under a rock somewhere.  Billy Graham started Samaritan’s Purse who runs OCC.  SP is an evangelical Christian organization.  Somebody please explain to this clown what EVANGELIZE means!  Does he think Billy Graham is a secular philanthropist?  There's no hiding the fact that SP and OCC are both Christian organizations and as Christians we are called to spread God's message.  Plus, it's called Operation CHRISTMAS child.  Not operation "Happy Holiday's" child or operation "Gee it's cold outside" child.  I personally think it would be a shame that the if people receiving the box at the end of the line were missing the message of Christ, God, giving and love.  My family is sending 16 boxes this year, we are sending them with the Spirit of love and giving in our hearts.  We pray that God finds the children that need these boxes and fills their hearts with His love.  I hope that everybody that participates gives with the love of Jesus in their heart.  If you have decided to not participate now knowing that OCC has the word Christmas in it which does mean it is a Christ based organization you may want to forward your boxes to Tom Cruise, Bono, Madonna or even Bin Laden and let them distribute them.
